At least his wife wasn't dying from cancer or something. Then he would be a real prick!

South Carolina Governor, Mark Sanford has been in the news this past week... a lot. Here’s the gist of what happened. He goes A-wall for a week; told people he's hiking in the Appalachian Mountains. And in the last couple of days he has come home from a weeklong trip to Argentina? And just today he holds a press conference where he admitted to cheating on his wife.

Check it out. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0609/24146.html

OK. So I like Governor Sanford. Well at least I used to. He is a conservative. He did not want Stimulus money. His economic policies are sound. He has even been named as one of the top candidates for the GOP nomination in 2012. In my books, the guy was legit. Then this happened and I'm sitting here thinking, 'awww crap. I wish he was a democrat or something.' I'll be honest. I probably would have voted for him in the 2012 election, and my innermost conservative bias is telling me to let it go. And to get the next democrat who is cheating on his wife. But as an American, I have to stand up and say, this is not how American politicians should act. We as Americans should not tolerate it. He should be impeached. Not because of the affair. That’s a personal issue. It could be handled on the next election day if it matters to S.C. voters. The real problem is that he lied to the people he represents, and for that I think there should be a direct vote amongst the South Carolina people to impeach him. Character and honest is an American issue; not just a Republican or democrat one.

  1. Wow. Interesting.... I agree with you on this one tho cuz image is everything now a days... so if you can't AT LEAST act the part or act like you know what you're doing... then how can you really do it? You have to BE AND LOOK professional... and this is totally not professional. So therefore, I disapprove. Even tho I won't be voting or anything lol
